June, 2008 Resource of the Month - Zoho Show
Zoho Show is part of the Zoho suite of online applications.The new version, 2.0, is still in beta, and offers a number of improvements over the original. You can import PowerPoint files, create new presentations, share them online (where they are stored) with others either privately or publicly, and host presentations as you would with a Web conferencing service. It integrates with Zoho Meeting, allowing you to share your desktop. All for free.
123ppt - Royalty free Powerpoint templates, powerpoint backgrounds, music loops, sound effects, presentation photos, and presentation resources. There is also a section of PowerPoint tips and tutorials and a forum.
3M Meeting Network - Lots of general information on meetings. Click on Presentations, then Creating Presentations or Delivering Presentations, for a list of articles.
A bit better - Home of the Screen Beans and an excellent set of tips & tricks (click the PowerPoint link).
Accent-Technologies - This site publishes a newsletter with lots of excellent, short articles on presenting and PowerPoint (including some of mine). Click on the Media Center link, then find the archives.
Active Learning with PowerPoint -
This University of Minnesota site includes an excellent tutorial on using PowerPoint in a way that engages students' interests. You'll find much applicable to business use as well. There's also a great section on games created in PowerPoint.
Alles-over-PowerPoint - A Netherlands site (in Dutch) devoted to PowerPoint.
Alltop-Speaking is part of a site that collects RSS feeds on various subjects. The Speaking page has an amazing collection of feeds on speaking, presenting, and PowerPoint. A great place to go to keep informed.
Authorstream is a site for uploading PowerPoint presentations. PowerPoint is hot stuff! See what you can find or upload your own.
Awesome Backgrounds - Taj Simmon's excellent site's name says it all; it's awesome. He's a PowerPoint MVP, so he knows PowerPoint. His templates are bold and bright. He has an excellent PowerPoint tips page and PowerPoint tutorials page; they are awesome too!
Beyond Bullets - Cliff Atkinson's thoughtful articles about communicating with PowerPoint.
Bill Dillworths MVP page offers how to articles, his own Connect4 game, and a number of add-ins that you may find useful. For example, one automatically numbers each slide with a Slide x (of y) footnote. Another cool one lets you move an AutoShape in slide show view, using arrow buttons -- great for a children's game.
CADTutor - Free help and tutorials on PowerPoint. Excellent PowerPoint tutorials.
Carol's Corner Office - Use Microsoft Office like a PRO! Tips, Tricks, and How-To's. Her Word Bytes newsletter includes tips on PowerPoint, as well as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Color Toy is a site that lets you input one color and get an entire color scheme in return. Besides being useful, it's lots of fun. You can use it to create a color scheme in PowerPoint. Color Toy lets you work with both RGB and hexadecimal numbers.
Creativemindsinc - People often ask me for a referral to someone who can create a great PowerPoint presentation. I usually refer them to Rebecca Renner, a talented and knowledgeable PowerPoint designer. You can also read an article by her on my site.

DigitalJuice - They sell a set of DVD''s that contain every conceivable background you could ever want, in every color imaginable.
Echo's Voice - Echo is a PowerPoint MVP and her Web site contains a series of in-depth articles and tutorials that everyone will find useful.
Epson Presenters Online - An excellent set of tutorials and articles on delivery, content, and visuals. Also, look for the PowerPoint tutorials link in the left-side menu. There's even a small, but excellent set of photographs (digital images) that you can download.
Indezine - Geetesh Bajaj's top-notch site includes the most thorough articles on PowerPoint that I've ever seen. Loads of links, backgrounds, and descriptions of software that can help you do great things with PowerPoint. He also has a newsletter that you can sign up for.
InfoComm - A site offering the total solution for your presentations, including articles (some of mine), equipment advice and sales, and more.
Internet4Classrooms offers tutorials, lots of links (especially suited for education, but also general), game templates, sample presentations, and more.
InZones - An extensive variety of PowerPoint Templates with an interesting concept -- matching MS Word and Web templates. Also, royalty-free photos.
I Present It - A great resource for people interested in PowerPoint and Flash. Lots of unique techniques. Click on the Previous Articles link for more.

Maharishi University of Management Help Desk - Tutorials of lots of computer subjects, including a 20-page set of tutorials on PowerPoint. Click here to go straight to the PowerPoint 97 tutorials.
Maniactive is Laura Bergells' website includes free templates, backgrounds, and links. Her Maniactive blog is full of backgrounds, and lively, useful advice.
MasterViews International - a blog on how to create presentations for international audiences. Very worthwhile. The site has loads of articles.
Microsoft in Education - Microsoft offers free tutorials for teachers. Choose the education level and you'll find tutorials and resources. You can download the tutorials.
Microsoft Office Reporter - A compilation of tips on all MS Office applications, including PowerPoint, from many sources. You can sign up for a weekly newsletter.

Office Tips - Here's a site that will help you use VBA in PowerPoint. Includes Shyam's Toolbox, a suite of PowerPoint tools.
OnPPT - Kathryn Jacobs' site with loads of information and answers about PowerPoint topics.
PoweredTemplates - An excellent source for outstanding custom templates as well as some free ones.
PowerPoint Backgrounds - You can buy some great PowerPoint backgrounds here but there's lots more. Some great tips, basic truths about PowerPoint, shortcuts, and more. Also some unusual tutorials and a list of links.
The PowerPoint FAQ - One of the most widely visited sites in the PowerPoint world. Steve Rindsberg, a PowerPoint MVP, has answered hundreds of PowerPoint-related questions, with the most incredible thoroughness.

PowerPoint Heaven - The Power to Animate - This site by PowerPoint MVP Shawn Toh contains PowerPoint movies, showcases, games, animations, templates, samples, and tutorials on creating advanced/amazing animations for your PowerPoint Presentations.
PowerPoint Workbench - Glen Millar is a PowerPoint MVP who specializes in complex animation. He also designs presentations. His site contains a large number of unique tutorials. On his Tutorial page, click a topic and scroll down to see the tutorial.
PPT-Powerful Presentation Tools - A blog by Paul Gibler on PowerPoint and other related topics.
PPTools - Add-ins for PowerPoint by Steve Rindsberg, a PowerPoint MVP. The tools include FixLinks (fixes and protects links to other files), Optimizer (shrinks file size), PPT2HTML (provides customized HTML from PowerPoint), Prep4PDF (PowerPoint to PDF, with options), Protect (protects your files), and ShapeStyles (saves formatting -- like Word styles -- and allows you to apply it to any AutoShape). And more.

Presentation Software - About.com's new site for PowerPoint, presentations, and more. This site offers lots of resources, with a blog, guides and tutorials, book reviews, related software, and more.

Presentation Zen is Garr Reynold's blog on on presentation design from the Zen perspective. His articles and ideas are always interesting and right on. His designs are inspiring.
Presenters University - An excellent site with loads of articles on every aspect of presenting.

ProPoint Graphics - Flash and PowerPoint presentations. Custom design services and PowerPoint makeovers.
RDP Slides - Steve Rindsberg's great site -- he's a PowerPoint MVP which means he knows a WHOLE lot. Click on PowerPoint FAQ for answers to frequently asked questions.
Six Minutes is a Andrew Dlugan's blog on public speaking and presenting. He writes often and is truly informed about all that is going on in the field.
SlidesDirect.com - Microsoft PowerPoint Templates. Studio-designed volumes of Microsoft PowerPoint Templates. Click on the Resource Zone for many free presentation resources.
SlideShare is a site where you can upload PowerPoint presentations and view those of others. It's a sharing site; it's the YouTube of PowerPoint. One difference is that some presentations are available for download. It's a great place to look for design ideas.
Sonia Coleman's Digital Studio - Sonia Coleman is a PowerPoint MVP. Her tutorial section contains some very detailed information on topics like putting PowerPoint presentations on autorun CD's and using sound with PowerPoint.
TED - TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and it's a conference that brings together thinkers and doers from those fields, and more to "give the talk of their lives" (in 18 minutes). The site presents the the best talks and performances, all for free. It's a great resource for viewing top-notch talks and presentations.
TemplatesWise - PowerPoint Templates and free backgrounds, some of which are stunning, in a variety of areas, such as business, finance, nature, abstract, etc.
Toastmasters International - Find a club near you and learn how to be a better speaker.
Terberg Design - If you need professionally design presentations, this site is a great find.
Think Outside the Slide - Dave Paradi's Web site on PowerPoint and creating good presentations. He offers a free tips newsletter, courses, books, and articles.
TLC Creative Services - Troy Chollar's site provides creative design services for presentations, specializing in animation and multimedia. He has a great set of tutorials. Click the Tutorials link to access them.

VectorMagic is a free service from Stanford University Artificial Intelligence Laboratory that vectorizes bitmap images. In other words, it takes JPG, GIF, TIF, or PNG files that are made up of dots and translates them into lines and equations. You can resize vector files without losing sharpness, which is the main reason to use this service. It works especially well with pixelated logos.
Wilder Presentations - Claudyne Wilder's web site includes lots of visual examples and tips for your presentations. Claudyne wrote the "Before and After" column for "Presentations" magazine.
